Digital Learning Day 2015
On March 13th, Liberty High School will be participating in Digital Learning Day (#DLDay). Digital Learning Day, first held in 2012, is an annual event that seeks to promote and highlight digital learning programs, innovative teaching, and digital leadership. The program is sponsored by the Alliance for Excellent Education and supported by the US Department of Education.
At Liberty High School our participation is designed to foster positive digital learning experiences for our students and staff, highlight innovative programs with our school, and facilitate conversations on effective digital learning.

OpenCourseWare Independent Study (OCW)
The OCW program allows students to take courses offered online by major universities. The course is self-paced, cost-free, and results in high school honors credit. Students work with the program coordinator to select a course of study, complete the online component, and plan for a final project. Each OCW student is required to apply his/her content knowledge to develop, complete, and present an independent research project or study. |
Flipped Classrooms
Liberty High School has several classrooms that are "flipped." In a flipped classroom students view pre-recorded lectures from the teacher at home and complete practice and application work in the classroom with the direct support of the teacher. Currently, Liberty has flipped classrooms in select Algebra I, Conceptual Physics, World History, and AP Biology classes. |
